Mariachi Legends Sets April 27, 2027 Release Date
Halberd Studios announced at gamescom 2026's Opening Night Live on August 26 that its 2D Metroidvania Mariachi Legends will launch on April 27, 2027. The game is set in Mexico and follows detective Pablo Cruz, who contracts with a death entity to transform into La Sombra and fight criminals threatening his homeland. Combat includes swords, guns, whips, and magic, with parries and finishing attacks available. Detective elements feature investigating corpses and interrogating suspects to unravel case mysteries. The game also has a day, night, and full moon cycle that changes each area's appearance, and exploration includes meeting residents who run shops or offer side quests. Mariachi Legends will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG.com, and Microsoft Store, as well as PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Halberd Studios is based in Mexico and previously released the Metroidvania 9 Years of Shadows, which holds a 'Mostly Positive' rating on Steam with 79% of 2,267 reviews positive. The game was first announced in June 2023 and has faced several delays since then.
