Battle Spirits returned to television in October 2026 with Battle Spirits [Re] Zekkai no Ku, the franchise's first new TV anime since the 2016-2017 Double Drive run. Crunchyroll streams the series to English-speaking audiences from day one. The show premiered Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and other channels. Masashi Kudo directs at Bandai Namco Pictures and is credited for original character designs, with Toshizo Nemoto on series scripts. Taichi Kusano voices lead Ku Bashin. Daiki Hamano, Hiro Shimono, and Nana Mizuki round out the cast. JAM Project performs the opening theme 'Here we are!' and Himegoto performs the ending theme 'Pulse.'
Before the premiere, Bandai Namco Pictures streamed all 413 episodes of the Battle Spirits anime on YouTube, from August 8 at 9 p.m. through around August 15. The broadcast was live-only with no archive, covering the franchise from Shounen Toppa Bashin to the web series Mirage. At the time, the new series was referred to as Battle Spirits [Re] Zekkai no Sora, and August 25 was set for new information. A trailer, visual, and additional cast arrived on August 28 along with the October 6 premiere date. The subtitle settled as [Re] Zekkai no Ku by the time Crunchyroll confirmed streaming.
On the game side, Furyu released the Nintendo Switch 2 download version of Battle Spirits Crossover, the digital card game built on the Battle Spirits TCG. It has over 1,900 card types through 'Contract Arc: True Chapter 1: Battle of the Gods.' A new Ultimate Edition collects all 29 additional content items, priced separately at 46,540 yen. Anime Feminist's review of the Battle Spirits [Re] Zekkai no Ku premiere describes a fantasy Edo Japan where Kuu Bashin plays Battle Spirits as a temple ceremony for the gods, and where the game turns lethal in the Kaiho Domain. The reviewer calls the setting and Shinto-inflected framing more culturally rooted than expected, credits the series for treating the card game as serious business, and still calls the premiere underwhelming in stretches and familiar shonen material.
