Netflix Anime NYC 2026 Roundup: Edgerunners 2, Blue Eye Samurai, The One Piece, More
Netflix used its Anime NYC 2026 presentation to announce release dates and new trailers for several upcoming anime and adult animated series. The biggest reveal was Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which will premiere on Netflix on October 20. The sequel is a standalone 10-episode story set in Night City, following a new cast of characters on a path of redemption and revenge. Studio Trigger returns to animate, with Kai Ikarashi directing in his debut role. The series features Japanese and English voice casts, including Momoka Terasawa and Valeria Rodriguez as Roman Carax, and Akari Kito and Kimoy Lee as Talia Yang. Netflix also announced that Blue Eye Samurai season 2 will arrive in January 2027, with a third and final season planned for 2028. The One Piece, Wit Studio's CG adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga, received new key art and a February 2027 premiere date, adapting the first 50 chapters across seven episodes. Bass X Machina, an adult animated steampunk Western created by LeSean Thomas and starring Brian Tyree Henry, will premiere November 3. SAKAMOTO DAYS season 2 got a character trailer and a January 2027 return.
