Folofly began taking orders on September 7 for the FKT, a light-truck commercial EV developed with ASF. It carries a 350 kilogram payload, matching a gasoline light truck, and runs 225 kilometers on a 30 kWh battery. Normal 6 kW charging fills it in about five hours. It qualifies for a national subsidy of up to 873,000 yen, and Folofly puts running cost at about 2.7 to 3 yen per kilometer.
Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), marking its 50th anniversary, and the new film Star Wars: Starfighter will screen on IMAX 70mm film across the US. The restored A New Hope begins re-screening nationwide on February 19, 2027, the first time in its 50-year history it will be shown in IMAX. Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling, releases May 28, 2027, with IMAX film camera footage converted to IMAX 70mm prints. Lucasfilm has not announced IMAX screenings for Japan.
Yen Press announced on Friday that it has licensed eight manga, six novel series, and one box set for release in December 2026. The slate includes new titles such as Witches Can't Be Collared, Your Castle's Little Helper, Tale of the Wizrain Kingdom, Mafia, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Familia Chronicle Episode Asfi, among others.
Lucasfilm Games released a new trailer for "Star Wars: Galactic Racer" during the Summer Game Fest 2026 livestream on June 6, confirming an October 6 release date. The racing game is set in the outer rim of the galaxy after the Empire's fall, during the New Republic's reconstruction. An underground racing circuit called the Galactic League has emerged, where syndicates fund pilots and racers compete in life-threatening races for quick fortunes. Players control a lone racer named Shade, who seeks revenge and glory. The game features a story-driven campaign and planned PvP modes. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Pre-orders opened alongside the trailer. Publisher Secret Mode showed footage of races on the planet Darven Akos, depicting various characters and hinting at a serious narrative beyond the racing itself.
