Key's visual novel AIR appears in the Steam Summer Sale 2026 as one of 17 titles from the Visual Arts brand, discounted up to 65% off until July 10. The sale bundles AIR alongside other Key classics such as Kanon, CLANNAD, Little Busters!, and Summer Pockets. No other Yomimono stories published in the coverage period address AIR directly, and no new adaptations, sequels, or merchandise have been announced for the title.
The absence of dedicated coverage for AIR in the recent news cycle suggests the property is in a quiet period, with no new anime, game ports, or anniversary events reported. The Steam sale represents the only current activity tied to the visual novel, and it is a routine seasonal promotion rather than a targeted campaign for AIR specifically.

Pocketpair released the full version 1.0 of Palworld on July 10, 2026, ending an early access period that began in January 2024. The open-world survival crafting game, which has exceeded 40 million total players, introduces two new regions: the floating Tenyo-kyo and the story-critical World Tree. The update adds 72 new Pal species, bringing the total to 287, and overhauls nearly every system including Pal parameters, base building, multiplayer, and graphics. New breeding mechanics called Awakening and Mutation are included. The number of tower bosses rises from five to eight, and the player level cap expands from 50 to 80. To mark the release, 4Gamer.net will host a Twitch stream starting around 1:00 p.m. JST, touring the new areas and hunting for new Pals. Pocketpair issued a warning on July 9, 2026, asking Palworld players to delete any old mods from the game folder before the 1.0 full release on July 10. The company said that because the 1.0 update changes game specifications, leftover mod files can cause crashes during startup or play, save data loading failures, and quest progression issues. Pocketpair stated that it 'sincerely supports mod culture' but recommended disabling mods, backing up saves, and verifying game file integrity on Steam. The full release added 47 new base Pals and 25 new subspecies, new areas including Tenyo Village and the World Tree, a revamped main story, and a level cap increase from 65 to 80. The 1.0 update also introduced an Awakening system using Gleamstones. The total player count for Palworld had exceeded 40 million as of July 8. On launch day, concurrent players on Steam surged past 470,000, ranking 4th on the platform behind Counter-Strike 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Dota 2. A 30% off sale on Steam priced the game at 2,380 yen until July 10.

Anime Feminist's weekly round-up for February 25 to March 3, 2026, covers several industry stories. A major focus is the controversy around Manga One, which secretly rehired a writer convicted of sexual abuse against minors. Multiple manga creators, including One (One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100), Haruko Kurumatani (Nakasetakute Doushiyou), and Misaki Takamatsu (Skip and Loafer), publicly condemned the publisher. Witch Hat Atelier creator Kamome Shirahama also commented, asking for compensation for an illustrator harmed by the situation. The round-up also includes a discussion of the manga Tank Chair and its cripple punk motifs, an interview with the director and producer of Champignon Witch, and an analysis of gender performance in In the Clear Moonlit Dusk. Other topics include a review of Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time criticizing its sexual politics, a report on the growing trend of men wearing makeup in Japan influenced by K-beauty, and a post about Seven Seas Entertainment stating it will not use AI in translations after its acquisition by MediaDo. The round-up also notes the passing of KyoAni founder Hideaki Hatta.

Anime Feminist published a review on February 25, 2026, analyzing how the manga Tank Chair by Manabu Yashiro incorporates Cripple Punk motifs into its post-apocalyptic story. The movement, coined in 2014 by Tyler Trewhella, rejects inspiration porn and instead presents disabled characters as rude, angry, and messy-not perfect suffering angels. The review argues Tank Chair is the first mainstream manga since Full Metal Alchemist to fully adopt this ethos. The series follows Nagi Tahira, an assassin left paralyzed after an attack, who uses a wheelchair that transforms into a tank to fight mutants and a fascist regime. The review praises Yashiro's wheelchair designs, which are based on real-life models like wheelchair rugby chairs and racing chairs, rather than clichéd hospital chairs. The article notes that the manga features a full cast of disabled characters with different disabilities, including Dr. Radio, who has a homemade prosthetic leg and psychically controls animals, and Touko, who uses prosthetic hands. The review highlights that the series explicitly states Nagi's disability is a good thing, not something to overcome, and that community and disabled joy are central themes.

The Japanese cast includes Kensho Ono as Yuru, Yume Miyamoto as Asa, Yuichi Nakamura as Dera, and others. The opening theme is "Tobu Toki" by Vandy, and the ending theme is "Tobo Yo" by yama. In a separate interview, English dub voice actors Ben Stegmair (Yuru) and Molly Zhang (Asa) discussed their approaches to the roles, with Stegmair noting he plays three distinct versions of Yuru and Zhang describing how she used a different voice for the fake Asa.

Hiro Mashima's new Fairy Tail miniseries will launch one week earlier than planned, now set for the 35th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine on July 29. The announcement came via the official X account for Mashima's works on May 12, 2026. The miniseries was originally scheduled for the combined issue 36/37 on August 5. The editorial department cited two reasons for the change: scheduling circumstances within the magazine, and Mashima completing draft manuscripts at a pace far exceeding editorial expectations. The miniseries is part of the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration and will feature a new story centered on Natsu and the Fairy Tail guild. This marks the first time Mashima has personally drawn a new Fairy Tail serialization since the original manga ended in July 2017. The original Fairy Tail manga launched in 2006 and ran for 545 chapters, inspiring multiple anime seasons, films, and spin-offs including the ongoing Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel.
