A Certain Dark Item Opens With ITEM Framed As Heroes, Then As Killers
The first two episodes of A Certain Dark Item introduce Academy City, a city-state built on scientific advancement where ethics are routinely ignored. ITEM is a group of mostly superpowered teenage girl mercenaries hired to keep the city's secrets quiet. Episode one presents them rescuing children from a mad scientist, while episode two has them destroying evidence and killing witnesses for pay.
