Universal Studios Japan will hold "1st Anniversary EXPO 2025 ~Relive That Excitement and Emotion~ @Osaka Kite na! 'EXPO Beat Jam'" from October 13, with stage events and appearances by Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura, Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama, Atarashii Gakko no Leaders, Kobukuro, SIS, Football Hour as MC, Myaku-Myaku and park friends. Epic Games is giving away System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and Buried Stars on the Epic Games Store for one week. The promotion opened at midnight on October 1, 2026, and runs until 0:00 on October 9, 2026. System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is Nightdive Studios' modern version of the 1999 FPS and RPG hybrid, with reworked character and weapon models and animations, support for up to 144fps, ultrawide displays, and optimized controller controls. Buried Stars is a mystery adventure from Korean studio LARGO and LINE Games about a venue collapse during a survival audition broadcast and the murders that follow, with branching endings. Only Buried Stars lists Japanese support among the two.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the October 2026 PlayStation Plus monthly free play lineup on October 1, and it includes three titles available from October 6 to November 2. Subscribers on the Essential, Extra, and Premium plans can add F1 25, Hello Neighbor, and the voxel Earth Defense Force spinoff DIGBOT EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 2 to their game library at no extra cost and keep playing them while their subscription stays active. F1 25, the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, is only for PS5. Hello Neighbor and DIGBOT EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 2 are both available for PS5 and PS4. It ships with a sniper rifle, a deployable barrel, anchor parts, a lead wire, canopy and landing gear parts, and six figure types. The model sells for 5,280 yen, with dedicated water-transfer decals at 770 yen and a deluxe set that adds an acrylic stand.
Bandai Spirits will release an S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto Rider Form 20th Anniversary Ver. figure to mark 20 years of Kamen Rider Kabuto. The figure stands about 145mm tall, and its suit colors are redone from the broadcast version, using a coloring approach different from the S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto that shipped in 2017. It also has ball joint connections at the wrist fittings and a light-gathering head part that makes the compound eyes appear to emit light. The set includes three left and four right interchangeable hands, the light-gathering head part, and the Zect Kunai Gun in both Gun Mode and Kunai Mode. The price is 11,000 yen including tax, with shipping and handling billed separately. Shipment is scheduled for February 2027.
EFT is releasing a 1/1250 scale shokugan set based on six Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ships homeported at Yokosuka Base. The lineup includes the destroyers Ikazuchi, Yugiri, and Amagiri, the replenishment ship Tokiwa, and the submarines Zuiryu and Kokuryu, split across a Full Hull ver. with a display stand and an Ocean ver. with a wave-style base. The exhibition FINAL FANTASY X MUSEUM -Ko no Kioku- runs from September 12 to September 27 at LUMINE ZERO in Shinjuku, Tokyo, marking 25 years since Final Fantasy X. Furyu will release a prize figure of Hatsune Miku in the Racing Miku 2025 Sepang Ver. design, based on an illustration by Kei Mochizuki. BenQ Japan announced on August 12, 2026, that its ZOWIE esports brand will release the XQ series of gaming monitors, a new line designed specifically for battle royale games. Indie game brand ASTRA announced on June 24 that it will release 'Humanity Optimization Plan Eden Protocol - Order of 2125' for PC. The game is a cybercrime hunt adventure set in 2125, where an AI system called AEGIS manages human emotions, relationships, and actions under the 'AI Act' to maintain a zero-crime utopia. Players act as surveillance collaborators, analyzing citizens' data to find and restrain violators. Twelve criminals have been revealed, charged with offenses ranging from major system modification to excessive sugar intake. The cast includes voice actors from the Acacia group, such as Yusei Kano and Momoka Sae. The protagonist Yamada Sovereign is voiced by Rie Tachibana. The game is the first title from ASTRA, a new brand by Astro Production. An ARG-style promotion is underway on social media. The price is set at 3,980 G (no yen symbol). The spinoff manga PARANORMASIGHT: File 25 - Reikan Shōjō Kurosuzu Mio no Kaigō will conclude with its second volume, shipping August 6. The series, by Hinase Momoyama, tells an original story set after the events of Square Enix's game PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. The manga launched on Square Enix's Manga UP! platform in November 2025, with the first volume released in February 2026.
Nippon TV has set July 11 as the first broadcast date for the love suspense drama "Confession -25-Year Secret-" starring Matsumura Hokuto (SixTONES). The main visual has also been released, showing Matsumura's character Sōta Yukimura gazing at Mariko Nose, played by Okazaki Sae. The series follows Sōta, who has fixated on a woman from his childhood for 25 years, with an incident and secrets from that time driving the plot.
