Selfie-Perspective Horror Game Cyan Heart Lands On Steam October 9

A design student built a whole horror game around a camera angle that withholds the one thing horror games normally rely on, the view ahead, and is shipping it as a paid Steam release rather than a demo experiment.

Selfie-Perspective Horror Game Cyan Heart Lands On Steam October 9

Indie developer Shoei Sio will release Cyan Heart on PC via Steam on October 9, 2026. The horror exploration puzzle game is played entirely through a selfie perspective: the screen shows the girl protagonist's face and back, never what is ahead of her. Players read her expression for cues while solving puzzles in an abandoned facility overrun by a cyan energy called Cyan. A release trailer is out.

The control scheme is the premise. The girl films herself continuously, so the screen holds her face and her back while the corridor in front of her stays off camera. Progress comes from reading her expression and from glancing at what she looks toward.

Sio has added two systems since the demo version: the character glances at places she can go or finds interesting, and the player can drop a pin on a destination so she walks there on her own. She wears an ushanka and keeps a tense expression throughout.

The facility is low-polygon and digital in feel. A magenta energy that mimicked physical phenomena turned cyan and now drives living things and machines insane.
