Level-5's Holy Horror Mansion Playable At TGS2026, Heads To Release In 2027

The demo shows a rhythm-driven battle system with randomly drawn attack cards and a two-stage photography loop, which is the first concrete look at how Level-5's 2027 title plays rather than what it looks like.

Level-5's Holy Horror Mansion Playable At TGS2026, Heads To Release In 2027

A hands-on demo of Holy Horror Mansion was playable at the Level-5 booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The demo follows protagonist Ten and camera-like companion Cameron collecting Mononoke around a modern city using Ghost Search and Ghost Shot, then fighting Kuchisake-onna. Some Mononoke need a Soul Key before they join. The game is scheduled for release in 2027.

The demo version ran the full loop: walk the city, catch a light with Ghost Search, fire Ghost Shot, and watch an object turn into a Mononoke. Ghost Shot doubles as a movement tool. A yellow-lit hedge or tree turns into a trampoline, and jumping from a hedge to a tree to a rooftop opens small clusters of items placed up there.

Not everything joins on the first shot. Post Potter needed a Soul Key from a related person before a second Ghost Shot made it an ally. Skipping time to night brought out Kuchisake-onna, whose true form only appeared after a Ghost Shot from the front instead of behind. The battles pair Mononoke against her on an upbeat track, with attack cards that vanish once used and new ones drawn at random.
