Nalua Studio announced Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a Neo Geo remake of the 1992 Mega Drive shooter Gley Lancer, on September 10, 2026. The rebuilt version redraws all graphics, adds a new 8-direction Overdrive system and modes including Score Attack, Boss Rush, Time Attack and Stage Select. It is scheduled for 2027 on Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo MVS, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
The remake is built from zero for Neo Geo AES and MVS, not emulated, and carries reworked pixel art and newly arranged BGM across 11 stages. Its new Overdrive armament deploys a defensive field and fires it toward enemies in 8 directions; scoring climbs when enemies are defeated with it.
