Apex Legends and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collaboration Event Begins July 15

E-District, originally a night map at launch, returns to its darker roots with a Cyberpunk makeover. The central Energy Bank becomes the Arasaka Citadel, corporate logos are replaced with Cyberpunk brands, and the moon from the anime floats overhead. The Wild Card mode adds risk-reward mechanics: players can activate Sandevistan or Blackwall Breach, but overuse triggers a Cyberpsycho state that strips them of weapons and shields in exchange for boosted melee. The condition can only be cleared by using Immune Blocker caches or syringes placed on the map.

Eight Legend skins were selected to match character personalities and playstyles, according to the development team. The skins are paired with specific weapons: P2020 for Wraith x Lucy, R-301 for Octane x David, Mastiff for Rampart x Rebecca, Wingman for Crypto x Male V, RE-45 for Lifeline x Female V, L-Star for Gibraltar x Royce, Kraber for Loba x Panam, and Charge Rifle for Ash x Lizzy Wizzy. The Mythic Alternator skin, Skippy, features two personality modes with distinct voice lines and unlockable tiers via Exotic Shards.

Respawn confirmed that the collaboration was their idea, and that CD Projekt Red provided detailed character and color guidelines. The team held watch parties for the anime to deepen their understanding of the source material. Audio from Cyberpunk 2077 could not be included due to licensing constraints. The Q&A session also revealed that development of the Mythic item was the most challenging part, as it was the studio's first external collaboration on a Mythic tier.
