Ace Combat 8 Tops Japan's Game Rankings For September 28 To October 4

The week's chart is carried by brand-new SKUs of established series rather than one blockbuster, with four separate titles selling fewer than 4,000 copies yet still reaching the top 15.

Ace Combat 8 Tops Japan's Game Rankings For September 28 To October 4

Famitsu's chart for September 28 to October 4 has Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve at No. 1 in its first week on PS5 with 63,013 copies. Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered Complete Edition follows on PS5 at 18,724, and Rhythm Heaven Groove is third at 15,894, bringing its running total to 1,065,816. New entries also include Minecraft Dungeons II, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve entered at No. 1 with 63,013 copies on PS5, the only title that week to clear 20,000, according to the Famitsu chart for September 28 to October 4. The rest of the top five is a mix of a remaster, Nintendo back catalog, and a new Minecraft spinoff.

Further down, Xbox Series X|S does not appear in the top 20 at all, and several late entries cleared the top 15 on fewer than 4,000 copies. Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life remain the two highest cumulative sellers in the chart.
